Description: | This model of Guarneri is probably one of the most copied violas. The dimensions are good and without being too large is manageable to the player. It creates a good deep and large sound that projects well in any space. This particular example is not quite the same as the original. The outline is slightly different though at a glance you probably would not see it. The scroll and peg box is my own design, going for something a little longer with a sleek feel. The back is an absolutely gorgeous one piece and is highly flamed like the neck block and ripples beautifully when moved in the light. The wood on this instrument is all approximately 7 years in age and is varnished with my own oil varnish recipe and coloured with my own home made pigments to give a soft and warm orange. This instrument is not antiqued though I have artistically shaded the varnish to give a softer, well played over all finish.
