A GOOD FRENCH VIOLA, PROBABLY BY CHARLES ADOLPHE GAND, PARIS, c. 1850 ‡
Labelled, "Gand, luthier de la Musique du Roi, et de l' École Royale de Musique, Rue Croix de Petits Champs no. 24, á Paris."
Signed to the inside back, "fait par C. A. Gand."   LOB 38.8 cm 

Sold with a certificate from Pierre Gerber, Lausanne (17 September 1968) ascribing the viola to Charles François Gand père.
