A FINE FRENCH VIOLIN BY JEAN BAPTISTE VUILLAUME, PARIS, 1866
Labelled, "Baptiste Vuillaume à Paris, 3 rue Demours-Ternes, 1866 JBV."
Signed and dated "66" in the upper treble bout of the back. Branded "Vuillaume" in the upper bass bout and numbered "2670" to the inside back.   LOB 35.6 cm 

* Sold with certificates from Michael A. Baumgartner, Basel (29 March 1985), Maucotel & Deschamp, Paris (10 July 1947) and J. & A. Beare Ltd., London (28 April 2005). Also illustrated in "Four Centuries of Violinmaking," (Cozio Publishing, 2006, pp. 626-627).
