A GOOD ITALIAN VIOLIN, NAPLES, POSSIBLY BY ALFONSO DELLA CORTE, MID 19th CENTURY
Labelled, "Giuseppe Gagliano di Nicola fece Napoli, 1781."
The head probably by Joseph Gagliano, late 18th century.   LOB 35.6 cm 

*Dendrochronology confirms the youngest tree ring from the four piece top to be 1725, 1741, 1732 and 1738 taken from treble to bass side of the instrument. A written report is available from Peter Ratcliff.
