A GOOD TYROLEAN VIOLIN, ASCRIBED TO AND POSSIBLY BY MATTHIAS ALBANI
Handwritten label partially legible, "Matthias Albani fecit..." Also bearing a repair label to the treble side.
Pegbox replaced. The volute possibly original.   LOB 35.5cm 

* Sold with a certificate by Dykes & Sons, London and a certificate by Ferron & Kroeplin, Chicago and a letter by Ferron & Kroeplin.
**Dendrochronology confirms the youngest tree rings from the treble and bass sides to be 1642 and 1686 respectively. A written report is available from Peter Ratcliff
