De Mori Federico
Born in a family of carpenters in Montelimar, France, F. Noharet de Mori at the age of thirteen showed a strong passion for constructing musical instruments, teaching himself how to make dulcimers and guitars. The direction of his career in violin construction began with the discovery of an old violin in an open-air market.
In 1977 he graduated from Lycée Technique Les Catalins High School in Montélimar.
In 1978 he studied in the International Professional Insitute of String-Instrument and Wood Artisans (I.P.I.A.L.L.) in Cremona, graduating in 1982 under the guidance of the master Francesco Bissolotti.
He settled in Parma where he immersed himself in an intense process of research and analysis of the minute criteria involved in each and every detail of the step-by-step violin construction process, from its initial design to its final varnishing-focussing especially on the effects change has on the acoustics of the instrument. From 1985 to 1990 he participated in the first series of the Parisian Musicora Exhibitions. His instruments during this period showed a great variety of style and interpretative freedom. The knowledge he acquired from all these activities led him to a totally personal method of design and construction, both rational and coherent.
He entirely designs his instruments calculating every minute detail based on a principle of proportional excellence. He uses a varnish with a propolis and rubia tinctorum root oil base. In September 2001, at the Baveno Competition in Italy, he received the highest score in the section for violin acoustics. The acoustic quality of his instruments has received personal praise from outstanding soloists in Italy, France, Austria, Russia, the United States and Japan.
2001 also saw the publication of his book The Magic Sound of the Forest, imaginative photographic account of his work. In this sequence of images and poetic phrases he has expressed, in both an allegorical and a didactic mode, the creation of his violins. But above all, this publication was his attempt to share the emotions immersed in the creative process involved in this amazing instrument construction.
De Mori Federico
International Professional Insitute of String-Instrument and Wood Artisans,在學時跟隨Francesco Bissolotti學習提琴的製作。
(Italy, France, Austria, Russia, the United States and Japan)。
The Magic Sound of the Forest一書,透過書中富想像空間的圖片及充滿詩意的文句,表達出其作品的創造力,但,這本書最主要的還是要跟讀者分享他創作提琴時的感情。 |
