Violins made by skilful assistant luminaries, or by machinery, according to standard. Extremely well and prettily wooded. Various shades of oil and spirit varnishes. Violas, ’cellos and double-basses. Designs and workmanship possibly transcending all antecedent mass production for that town. Guitars, lutes, mandolines and zithers. Stainer-modelled violins, dated 1854, especially commended.
