Detail Introduction

John Friedrich was born in 1858. He was residing in Peekskill, NY 1942. He served as an apprentice in Kassel, Stuttgart and Berlin. When he came to America he established the firm known as John Friedrich & Bro. The elder brother Otto died in 1884. John made many instruments in the earlier years, but later on the business was devoted chiefly to restoring and selling. About 1935 they went out of business and John retired. At the time, their instruments were valued at $100.00 - $350.00
