Detail Introduction

Studied violin making and repairing with William T. Walls in Tampa, Florida in 1976. Studied the acoustics of bowed instruments with Dr. Carleen Hutchins at the Catgut Acoustical Society in Montclair, New Jersey, and within a short time began building instruments for Dr. Hutchins. Entered an intensive course of study in violin making with Karl Roy, who at the time was head of the violin making school in Mittenwald, Germany. After moving to Colorado in 1986, worked for Goodrich Violin Shop doing repairs, and learning advanced techniques in restoration.
