Milan , Born in 1864 Contemporary maker who somewhat late in life (1900) undertook making professionally. In spite of this, his reputation is established as one may judge by the awards obtained at exhibitions. Grand Prize and Gold Medal at Milan in 1906. Grand Prize and Gold Medal at Turin in 1911. Medal of Honour at San Francisco in 1915. Gold Medal of Honour of the Royal Philharmonic Academy in Rome 1917. His works are inspired by those of Stradivarius, Guarnerius I. H. S. and N. Amati. His oil varnish purified with alcohol is very brilliant, tender, and of a red orange shade.
