Detail Introduction

A native of Beijiing， the 5 year old Sheng began violin lessons in 1954 with Mr. Zhang Zhi-Qing of Beijing Central Philharmonic. Moving to Yen-an in Central China in 1971， he served in the local music groups as a violinist. He began violin making with Dai Hong-Xiang in 1980. He placed 4th in violin tone at the 1983 Kassel Louis Spohr violin making competition.
