Maestro Dai (1929-2001) is a pioneer in Chinese violin making. He was associated with the New China Violin Factory (which became the Beijing Violin Factory) as early as 1951, where he learned instrument making with Wang?? and Li Wei-Zhen. Entered Prof. Tan's advanced violin making class in Shanghai, 1958. He was the head of Beijing Violin Factory. In 1983 he participated in the Kassel International violin and Bow Making Competition and won a gold medal. All in all, Maestro Dai is an important maker and a luthier who had made enormous contribution to China's violin indusy. Shops |
