His instruments are extremely rare, but those that survive are recognisable by their distinctive f-holes and rather square outline. Although Bussetto\'s instruments vary in quality, his best work is comparable to that of many of his great contemporaries and has occasionally led to his work being attributed to other Cremonese makers." One of his violin made in about 1680, got excellent varnish, was attributed to Giuseppe Guarneri filius Andrea.
Descriptions about Bussetto’s style, characteristics, date etc. are always contradictory. Except for the wood and high quality varnish are similar with Amati school at that time, module, scroll, F holes and purfling etc. are different from those of violin then. From the excellent craftsmanship and beautiful outline, Bussetto could be considered as the top maker at that period. He is a peculiar and mysterious maker as well in the Cremonese violin-making history.
