Born 1875. Joined the firm of Thibouville-Lamy at Mirecourt, 1890. Became codirector with Acoulon, 1908. Died 1928. Contributed much to the prosperity of the firm. Officer of Public Instruction, Chevalier of the Legion of Honour, 1923. Two grades of violins bear his name - Amati and Stradivarius models - £20 and £25 (1920). Excellent workmanship: corners rather too prominent. Scroll sometimes with overdone black rims. Red oil varnish, thick and tending to slight transparency.
