Detail Introduction
Son of Giusee, Enrico Rocca was born in Turin but moved with his family to Genoa in 1863. He at first pursued other careers, only turning to violin making in the 1870s. He did not use the models from his father\'s workshop, but itead seems to have learned from Eugenio Praga, his contemporary in Genoa. Rocca bloomed as a violin maker after 1900, having previously concentrated on plucked itruments. His best work is reminiscent of his father and he later developed a simplified form of his father\'s Stradivari model. He influenced many younger Genoese makers. Shops |
