fair maker - good tone. Bows with GRIMM stamp probably made by Heinrich Knopf. Capable musician as well as violin maker, established at Saaz, here we get no masterly modelling, no precision about the scroll. and little artistry in  the sound-holes. Varnish has greater pretension towards the excellent, tonal quality surprisingly responsive.
