In 2005 the luthiers who were members of the A.N.L.A.I, met in Rimini, for the exposition of musical instruments and it was here that they presented the Master luthier Aldo Capelli with a plate "Premio alla Carriera" to acknowledge his illustrious career. Due to ill health, he was unable to attend the presentation and the award was delivered to his home by a collegue at a later date. At the turn of the millenium he contracted an illness which gradually impeded his work. After a long and difficult period, this same illness caused his death in May 2008.
