Worked in Mirecourt, 1872, died 1931, established a factory for violin making, and had several clever assistants. Bought the ' Chipot-Vuillaume' trade name after the premature death of that maker, and continued to export instr labelled with that name, usual transcripts of various standard models, and the familiar Mirecourt style, Neat Panormo copies, slightly under full size; the Maggini copies have the double purfling.
