Mars Auguste Huon was born on 1 March 1870 (hence Mars), the son of Jean Baptiste Modeste Huon. He served his arenticeship in Mirecourt with a family member and worked for C.N. Bazin and J. Thibouville-Lamy. He moved to Paris to join Andre Vigneron\'s workshop in 1910. His work closely resembles that of Vigneron and is branded \'A. Huon\'. He died in Paris around 1930.
Bows branded \'Simon FR\' are thought to be the work of Nicolas Simon, the FR being a reference to his wife\'s maiden name, Frebinet. Simon was based in Mirecourt and his work is of a high quality. His style was largely coistent, often featuring strong heads, triangular sticks and Peccatte-school butto.
