Giovanni Francesco Pressenda,意大利名作者,生于1777年,1854年12月12日卒于Turin。

Giovanni Francesco Pressenda,1777年1月6日出生于Bordia区一户朴实的农村家庭,一般认为Pressenda是业余提琴演奏者之子(本身也是演奏者)。
虽然Pressenda声称他是在Cremona学习制琴技术的,但根据最近的研究指出,他曾有一段时间(很长的时间)是在田里工作,并且从未到Cremona的工作室中学习。
于1815年结束在一处名叫Leté-Pillement乐器工作室工作后,Pressenda展开了他的学徒生涯。不过他在Nicolas Leté1819年去世之后即离开此地。1812年他已有能力可以开一家自己的店。自此,由于获得Torino小提琴音乐家学校校长、Giovanni Battista Polledro及Giuseppe Ghebart的支持与肯定,Pressenda闯出自己的名号,并且开始固定制作乐器。
在法国的工作室期间,Pressenda不仅学得制作琴的技术,也学到了如何有效管理工作室,使他得以获得François Calot, Pierre Pacherel 及Giuseppe Rocca等同僚的帮助。

虽然曾经一般普遍认为他可能是Storioni的学徒,但到目前为止仍然无法证实这点,1820年代左右,Pressenda是在位于Turin的法籍制琴师所开设的工作室中学业。Pressenda早期的作品散发出浓厚的法国特色,而所使用的Strad模型在19世纪也是在法国相当流行的模型。1830年起Pressendas作品中的个人特色渐渐展露(他选用暗红色漆料的特色和较长F孔的制作亦在此时出现),琴头中隆起部分使用强而有力的线条修饰,这也成为Turin学院在20世纪时的商标,1830年晚期Giuseppe Rocca(其最有名的学徒)开始协助Pressenda制琴,但受Pressenda影响最深的是另一位名叫Annibale Fagnola的学徒,他所临摹Pressenda的作品相当神似。
