如同其兄长Michele Angelo一样,Zosimo在Parish of San Luca出生并成长,当1746年Bergonzi家族举家搬到Casa Stradivari时,他仍然住在他父亲的家中。1748年,Zosimo娶了女子Clara Galli后搬到Piazza San Domenico居住,并于1754年在当地生下Nicola,接着在1757年Carlo II出生之前又举家搬迁至Parish of San Nicolo,并住在当地珠宝商Paolo Frassi(Nicola Amati的学徒Giacomo Gennaro之孙)的家中。

Clara Galli于1767年过世,Zosimo很快地跟他年轻的女管家Anna Radaeli再婚,在其长子Nicola结婚后(1773年),他们举家搬到了Parish of Santa Cecilia。在1775年左右的信中,Paolo Stradivari提到他父亲的提琴原型,成为了Bergonzi家族某位成员财产。(Nicola Bergonzi章节中会在详谈)1779年在Zosimo过世后的五个月后,其子Nicola和Carlo II至公证人面前发表正式声明,宣布他们放弃其父亲Zosimo Bergonzi的遗产,代表其子拒绝背负父亲的债务。他们的这个动作在克里蒙纳制琴业是从未发生的。由此我们可以推测,Zosimo在过世时应该是非常贫困的,并且和其子的工作类型大异其趣。
